Как лечат наркоманов в Кабуле

Во времени его открытия в мае 2009 года в кабульском центре по лечению и реабилитации наркоманов, который располагает 100 койко-местами, побывало уже более 400 пациентов. Это заведение временно финансируется Международной организацией по миграции, а также министерством здравоохранения Афганистана. Программа в центре длится 45 дней и сочетает в себе детоксикацию и реабилитацию. В центре работают две ведущие организации, предлагающие программы по детоксикации, Вадан и Неджат. В докладе Государственного департамента США за 2009 год сообщается, что в Афганистане около двух миллионов человек употребляют наркотики. Только в одном Кабуле проживают 50-60 тысяч наркоманов.

Кабул наполнен людьми, чьи бритые черепа покрыты множеством мелких шрамов. У афганских наркоманов нет денег, что позволить себе шприц и инъекцию. Они втирают морфий в открытые раны на голове – по их мнению, это наиболее прямой путь к мозгу
