Printing on Toilet paper — An open-source stimga?
The open-source industry, may it be the profitable or the non-profit part of it, still is a mystery to many people. It products are perceived as the insecure part of the industry, as the donated software for poor people, the third-world supply of operating systems and something you do not want to admit you are using. I had two IT admins so far telling me they where not using open-source as a possible alternative to proprietary software because "they did not know they were allowed to do so". This meaning "I wanted to use it, because I do so at home, but I thought we were obliged to spend money instead of taking something thats free". Now the popular open source software is taking a new humorous turn at the subject, as to see in the graphics software "The Gimp": When selecting the format of a new image, you can choose A4, Letter and "Toilet Paper". Aparently because people who use open-source software are not able to afford normal paper? I still wonder how you get that into a printer...
